Finished my basting sauce. Vinager based. Will put it onaround 9-10 am.

I realize that according to texas BBQ standards, that is a no-no. Texas BBQ worships the meat, not what you can add to it. But I'm a Georgia boy. Come here and eat MY BBQ!!!

Heh I think my 100% Texan brother would let you off the hook on this one: he's got more rubs, marinades, and wood ratios for smoking than you'd believe ...

Hehehe... Those of us not from Texas are told that meat is king. In the Texas BBQ circut, sauces are not allowed. I'm glad I can now go there without being shot.

Sauces not allowed? Wow. We use a sauce recipe (see former posting) that our Dad came up with years ago, never heard any complaints. We live in the North Dallas area though, maybe all these city slickers are more progressive ...

Keep the sauce off the meat till it's done - other than that - soak that puppy good :)
